Newsletter June 2014
Hello everyone!

Red Taekwondo class plan for summer holidays: Monday and Friday classes will be on during the summer holiday times at normal lesson times 5pm to 7pm. Fee can be paid in a bulk of either 6 lessons or 10 lessons.

It is a great opportunity to try out anyone who may want to find out about Taekwondo martial art/sport. Bring along your friends to try out and have a fun training time together!

Inter Club Competition: Red Taekwondo Inter Club competition is on Sat 21st June from 3pm to 5pm for both Poomsae and Kyorugi categories. The purpose of the competition is to encourage student’s knowledge of the Taekwondo techniques and also to boost their motivation. All participants will be awarded with a certificate and medals for winners. Please fill the application form and hand in by 14th June together with £5 entry fee.

Kup Grading: Red Taekwondo club’s Kup grading date is set for Saturday 5th July. Application form should be hand in by the end of June.

I am attending a foreign instructor’s course in July in Korea. Taekwondo lessons for Monday 14th, 21st of July will be moved to Friday classes. For Friday 11th, 18th of July lessons will be run by Master Dave Kim from the Cambridge Tuji Taekwondo club. Unfortunately, I will have to cancel the Little Tiger’s class during my absence.

Protective gears: Full contact sparring is only safe to practice when all the protective gear is put on. I am ordering a limited number of full protective gear sets for students who have ordered and others might like to take the opportunity to order. Please let me know if you would like to order. If you are ordering them by yourself then please make sure that all gears should be approved by the World Taekwondo Federation (WTF approved).

As always thanks for your support.

Hello everyone, hope you all started the year 2014 full of positive energy and are gearing up a for fun training time with the Red Taekwondo Club!

From this year, I am introducing a 3 tag system between each Kup grading. All students will be given a black tag each time they complete the techniques for their grading syllabus. However, students who participate in any Taekwondo competition, either Kyurugi (sparring) or Poomsae (pattern), will be awarded 1 black tag automatically.

The eligibility for applying for grading is according to the student’s attendance from the last grading date together with 3 black tags.

10th (white belt) and 9th Kup (yellow tag) student’s attendance should be 20 lessons or over and from 8th Kup (yellow belt) above should at least be 30 lessons from the last grading date. Dan graders should at least take 3 gradings before applying for 2nd Dan grading.

Red Taekwondo club have started the Little Tiger class. This class is for children aged from 4 to 6 years old. Please spread the word around for me! Little Tiger class is on Friday from 4.30pm to 5.10pm at the Northgate Youth Centre and is £3.50 per lesson or £32 for 10 lessons if paid in advance.

Like I have mentioned several times before, it is important that all students have their own protective gear for safety.
